What it is

Raised reflective pavement markers (RRPMs), often called cat's eyes, are reflective devices fixed to the road surface that help drivers stay within their lane, particularly at night or during wet weather.
Our crews install RRPMs on centre lines, edge lines, lane lines and safety treatments across roads and highways. The markers reflect vehicle headlights back towards the driver, making road alignment easier to see when pavement markings alone may be difficult to distinguish. Installation is often completed alongside line marking projects, resurfacing works and road safety upgrades.
They are one of the most cost-effective road safety treatments available: small in size, but a major part of lane definition in low light and bad weather — particularly effective installed alongside quality line marking and audio tactile treatments, creating multiple layers of guidance for road users.

Why install them if the lines are already marked?
They significantly improve lane visibility during rain, fog and darkness, when painted lines alone may be less visible. It is a simple but highly effective treatment that helps reduce lane departure incidents.
Can you install them as part of a bigger job?
Yes, and that is usually how it works — installation is often completed alongside line marking projects, resurfacing works and road safety upgrades. Many contractors can install RRPMs; few can deliver them as part of a complete road safety package including line marking, audio tactile and signage.
