What Southern Highway does

A family-run line marking and signage company built for council and VicRoads-scale road works.

Eleven services, one accredited crew, and the fleet to take on whole networks — from the Geelong workshop to the South Australian border.

What we do

Line marking Road line marking services for major infrastructure works across Victoria, and the ongoing maintenance that keeps civil projects, car parks and access roads compliant. Long-life application Thermoplastic and cold-applied plastic line marking for the Victorian routes that carry the most traffic and need to hold up longest. Grinding Line marking removal and pavement grinding across Victoria — obsolete road markings taken out and the surface prepped for the next treatment. Signage supply and install Road signs, street signage and traffic signs for Victoria — manufactured in our Geelong workshop, then installed for infrastructure rollouts and council safety upgrades. Raised reflective pavement markers Bulk supply and installation of RRPMs for night and wet-weather guidance across high-volume networks. Audio Tactile Line Marking (ATLM) Raised-profile line marking that gives drivers an immediate sound and vibration warning when they drift from their lane. Street sweeping An industrial sweeping fleet for surface preparation and post-works clean-up on civil and council projects. Crack sealing Waterproofing that protects pavement structure and extends the life of the road before resurfacing is needed. Specialist treatments Specialist road treatments delivered inside larger civil and maintenance packages: coloured surfaces, rumble strips, street sweeping and crack sealing.

Common questions

What councils and contractors ask us first.

Are you accredited for VicRoads and council works?

Yes. We hold council, VicRoads and civil-works accreditation, Our certificates of currency and capability statement are available on request — ask when you enquire and they come back with the reply.

What regions do you cover?

Geelong and the Surf Coast through Ballarat, Bendigo and Horsham, and west to the South Australian border. We do not service metropolitan councils, Gippsland or Goulburn Ovens Murray. Our workshop is in Geelong.

Do you take on small jobs?

We're set up for network-scale work: councils, VicRoads-accredited works and civil contractors. If your project is smaller, tell us what you need and we'll point you in the right direction.

Can you handle marking and signage on the same contract?

Yes, and most clients prefer it. Signage is manufactured and installed by the same company that marks the road, so there is one supplier and one point of accountability.

Do you work at night or under traffic management?

Regularly. Our crews work night shifts and live traffic on highway and arterial projects, coordinated with the traffic management your project requires.

How quickly can you mobilise?

It depends on the scope and the season, but our fleet and crews are based in Geelong rather than subcontracted, which is what keeps response times short across Western Victoria.
